Started in 1974, as Evans Bookstore, Fertile Ground is one of Toronto's oldest independent bookstores. Evans Bookstore started up to meet a unmet need for a specialized business bookstore in Toronto. Over the years Fertile Ground has expanded its selection to provide a range of materials including accounting, management, design, and computing. In 2005 the store has expanded its selection to provide books on the environment and environmental business. Fertile Ground has a history of interacting with the community.
Located in the heart of downtown, Toronto Fertile Ground is situated in a picturesque victorian town house which has been recently renovated to reflect our new environmental selection. Our location is minutes away from Yonge and Bloor, a major transit hub and therefore is easily accessable via public transit, by bicycle, and foot.
